Velan One is a young, energetic technology company headquartered in Accra, Ghana. We are committed to providing practical, easy-to-use digital business tools for small and medium-sized enterprises across West Africa. Rooted in the local market, we focus on everyday business challenges: limited visibility into products and stock, scattered customer information, reliance on manual records, and communication barriers between multilingual teams. By bringing together inventory and sales management, CRM, business websites and an AI assistant, we aim to reduce repetitive work, streamline operations and help teams collaborate more effectively. We believe digital transformation should begin with solving real problems. Whether you run a new shop or a growing trading company, you should be able to choose tools that fit your needs and build more organised ways of working at an affordable cost. Serving Ghana and neighbouring West African countries, we place particular importance on multilingual usability and local business needs. We also continue to explore practical uses of AI in sales document preparation, information retrieval and business analysis—bringing technology into everyday work and helping owners manage their businesses with greater confidence. One platform for your business.
Tom Yu | Founder & Chief Product Officer
Tom Yu spent many years working at internet companies in Beijing, China, serving as Technical Director, Product Director and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). His experience across software development, product design and team management has shaped how he approaches products: understanding what technology can achieve and what users actually need to solve. He founded Velan One to turn that experience into practical, affordable and accessible tools for small and medium-sized businesses. By connecting purchasing, sales, customer follow-ups and business websites in one platform, Velan One aims to reduce repetitive data entry and the burden of managing information across separate systems. Product Philosophy: Start with Real Business Needs Business software should help people complete their work faster and understand their business more clearly. Velan One designs features around everyday workflows, allowing businesses to choose the applications they need, expand as they grow and collaborate across languages. AI as an Everyday Business Assistant For Tom, the value of AI lies in helping people get things done. Users can describe their needs through text or voice—for example, “Create an order for this customer,” “Check product availability,” or “Analyse this week’s business performance.” The assistant can guide them through tasks, organise information and support analysis using business data they are authorised to access. Velan One’s vision is to bring AI into practical daily work: reducing time spent searching menus, assisting with document entry, organising sales and customer information, and highlighting issues that deserve attention. Users review and confirm document submissions, financial transactions and other critical actions, keeping workflows clear and under their control.
